I thought I wouldn't like attending a school with a small campus, but it turned out that it was just what I needed. The campus is beautiful, the professors genuinely care about you, and the people are welcoming. Sophomore: Point Loma is paradise on earth. #11 Best Colleges for Business in California I am not a huge partier myself, but there is always something happening Thursday-Sunday nights whether it's downtown or house parties. One main reason for this is because our teams are not very competitive, but if our teams can start performing better then I think we could have a better athletic program. No one gets hyped to go to football games on Saturday, or wants to support the basketball team, etc. My one and only dislike about this school is the lack of athletics. The food on campus could improve, but I know we have the avenue under construction at the moment, so hopefully, when that opens up, campus food will get better.
The teachers in my department are most of the time amazing, and the hands-on experiences I am getting are something people don't see everywhere. I came here for the outstanding engineering program and that is what I am getting. Sophomore: I am a second-year Electrical engineering student at Cal Poly SLO and I absolutely love it here. #9 Best Colleges for Business in California I had an amazing time at Pepperdine, and in all honesty, wish I could go back!. The classes I took for my minor - Creative Writing - were also fantastic, particularly my Spiritual Writing class (taught by an outstanding professor). I found my religion classes (three required) especially fascinating given that I was not a Christian student, all the material was new for me and quite enlightening. The other classes that I took outside of my major (as part of Pepperdine's liberal arts curriculum) were also excellent. My professors were eager to offer help and advice, and it was clear that they enjoyed their careers and loved teaching and mentoring students. Everyone there was remarkably friendly, and when I switched my major to Art History, I felt very welcomed by the department and encouraged in the pursuit of my goals. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there - I loved my professors, loved the location, and loved the stunning campus. #7 Best Colleges for Business in CaliforniaĪlum: Pepperdine University is incredible. In addition, the academics are extremely strong as professors prioritize their students, meaning that they put the well-being and success of those they teach in order to prepare them appropriately for future careers. I have been able to find an incredible support system, long-life friends, outstanding professors, a social residential learning experience, and an active student life.
However, I was immediately received with open arms in a community that prides itself in acceptance, diversity, inclusion, and bronco spirit! Throughout my first year, I became involved in activities such as Associated Student Government, Mecha-El Frente, Campus Ministry, and the Office of Multicultural Learning. Coming into a four year university as a Latinx first-generation student was nerve-wracking at first I wasn't sure how well I would adapt to a new environment. Sophomore: I am a rising sophomore at Santa Clara University, and my experience thus far has been amazing to say the least. #4 Best Colleges for Business in California
